A MAN with a chaotic lifestyle, described in court as a high risk sex offender, repeatedly breached registration requirements.

Blackburn magistrates heard Andrew Burrows had also failed to comply with post-custodial supervision.

Burrows, 22, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two charges of failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements by reporting his whereabouts to the police and breach of post-custodial supervision. He was jailed for 12 months.

Jade Coleman, prosecuting, said Burrows had been convicted of sexual assault on a female child under the age of 13 in 2019 and had been made subject to the Sex Offender Register requirements and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. She said there had been numerous breaches since and Burrows had been jailed for failing to comply.

"His last registered address was in Birmingham but his tenancy was terminated in August," said Miss Coleman. "Information came to light that he was living in Chorley and he had failed to register that address.

Richard Prew, defending, said he had warned his client that he was likely to face a custodial sentence.

"When he gets out he will still be subject to the requirements and to post-sentence supervision," said Mr Prew. "I would ask you to keep the sentence as short as possible given his guilty pleas."
