Railway Road, Blackburn, 1952
This has to be one of our favourite photos we’ve discovered in the archives for quite some time. Taken in 1952 it shows what looks like traffic chaos on Railway Road in Blackburn.
A queue of buses stand nose to tail trying to get off the Boulevard while parked cars take up much of the other side of the road.
Undaunted the driver of the open topped sports car is just nipping along the tram tracks not letting anything get in his way. The oncoming bus might not find it so easy
