Blackburn’s AJ Odudu said she and her dance partner are trying a “bit of role-play” this week ahead of Strictly Come Dancing’s Halloween Special.

This week, dancers will be dressed in their scariest outfits and embracing their spooky side.

Kai Widdrington and AJ will be performing a Viennese Waltz to Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.

AJ has also hinted towards a spider theme for this weeks dance, by posting a picture to her social media account.

In the post, she added: “Just a bit of role-play for this week's Halloween special. I'm a dangerous woman & @kaiwidd's meant to be my victim...not spider man. Must. Do. Better”

After last week’s fiery Argentine tango, rumours began circulating that the pair were dating.

On an episode of BBC’s It Takes Two (26 October), Kai and AJ were questioned by Rylan Clark-Neal about their relationship.

He asked: “Can we settle a few scores here please? I’ve known AJ for many a year now, I know she can’t lie to me, what’s going on?”

AJ remained tight-lipped on the situation, but Kai offered a response.

He said: “If people react like this, then it means we’re doing something right, because that’s the way the dance should be danced.”

“It was a very passionate song, a real fiery piece, and very intimate, and that’s what we wanted, and that is the characterisation of the Argentine Tango.

“So if people want to think that, then great, but we’re just doing our job and she did a great job," he added.

Earlier this week, a popular comedian left a heart-warming message for AJ Odudu and praised her for her “well-deserved success” on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Presenter and Comedian, Tom Allen, made the post on Instagram earlier this week – but the funny man only had serious things to say about the Blackburn star.

In the post, he wrote: “Was having a hectic day but suddenly everything was ok when I ran into AJ!

“So proud of my friend and all her well-deserved success on Strictly - she works so hard and is truly the brightest star I know.”

Many people flocked to the comment section to praise the duo’s friendship and AJ’s dancing technique.

“Aww - love you two together,” wrote one person.

Another person said: Love AJ’s dancing and all her Lancashire northernness

A third user wrote: “Love AJ! You're such a breath of fresh air and you’re brilliantly Northern.”

“Love AJ, doing Blackburn proud,” said another.

You can watch this week’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One at 7:10pm.
