A MAN breached a restraining order the day after he was released from a prison sentence imposed for assaults on the same victim.
Blackburn magistrates heard Usman Yakub contacted his ex-partner before walking into her home uninvited.
Yakub, 32, of Russell Avenue, Preston, pleaded guilty to breach of a restraining order. He was jailed for 16 weeks.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said Yakub was jailed for 16 weeks on October 15 for two assaults on his ex-partner and a communications offence. Because of time spent on remand he was released four days after being sentenced.
"This offence was committed the day after he was released," said Mr Robinson.
He said the first contact came from a withheld number. It was Yakub who said he was in the Mill Hill area where she lives.
"Later she saw him in the area and at 9.30 she got a call from a friend warning her he was there.
"Shortly after that he walked into her house," said Mr Robinson.
Peter King, defending, said his client did not dispute the outline put forward by the prosecution.
"What he does say is that he went to the Mill Hill area to collect his belongings from a friend's house," said Mr King.
"He did not expect to see her in the street but accepts that was not a green light to continue contacting her or go to her house."
