A main road in Blackburn has been closed following a crash.

Buncer Lane between Mavis Road and Livingstone Road is blocked by the police after a crash between two cars - a Mini and a VW Golf - and an electric bike.

The rider of the electric bike has suffered arm and face injuries and is currently being treated at the scene.

The Golf has visible damage to its front end, with the driver being checked over by paramedics.

It is believed the Mini lost its driver-side tyre during the collision, but the extent of the driver's injuries is not known.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called at 5.14pm to Buncer Lane in Blackburn following a collision between an electric bike, a VW Golf and a Mini.

"Officer remain at the scene and it looks like the cyclist has suffered arm and face injuries in the crash."

The road will be closed for around an hour while the emergency services deal with the incident.

Traffic is being diverted on to Mavis Road and Gorse Road. Anyone heading up Buncer Lane is being diverted onto Livingstone Road.
