BLACKBURN with Darwen Borough Council is looking for new members of its Independent Remuneration Panel.
Its role is assist the council in reviewing its Scheme of Allowances by making recommendations about the amount of allowances payable to councillors.
The panel consists of up to seven members and the usual term of office is four years.
The role is unpaid although reasonable travelling expenses are paid.
It entails one or two meetings per year together with a degree of telephone and email contact in order to finalise reports.
Interviews will be held during November.
The newly-formed panel will meet during December and early January so a report can be presented to the council in late January.
The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday November 15.
