A WOMAN was caught on CCTV urinating on the floor of a Blackburn town centre store.

Blackburn magistrates heard Natasha Holland subsequently stole razor blades from Wilko and it was following her arrest for that the original offence was discovered.

Holland, 21, of Hanson Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to theft and criminal damage. She was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 compensation to Wilko to cover the cost of specialist cleaning.

The magistrates were told Holland had been released from prison four days before and was subject to prison licence. She had been recalled and will serve five weeks which remain of her sentence.

Scott Parker, prosecuting, said the CCTV footage showed Holland enter Wilko at 1.14pm.

"She walked onto aisle 38, dropped her trousers and urinated on the floor," said Mr Parker.

Peter King, defending, said immediately after her arrest Holland was taken to hospital to be treated for an overdose of alcohol and paracetamol.

"She was in a very sorry state, at her lowest ebb, when she committed these offences," said Mr King.

"She was clearly not in control of her faculties and is absolutely disgusted by her behaviour.

"She is sorry about what happened and for any embarrassment caused to anyone who witnessed her behaviour."
