A man has been ordered to pay more than £2,000 for travelling to Manchester Airport during coronavirus lockdown.

Qassim Hussain, 28, was at the airport on February 18, during the third lockdown, ‘without a reasonable excuse’.

Police found Hussain, of Preston New Road, Blackburn in breach of the lockdown laws.

He was proved guilty and ordered to pay a fine of £1760, a victim surcharge of £176, and courts fees of £90 – a total of £2026.
