A POPULAR children’s play centre has hit the market at just shy of half a million pounds.

It’s been the home of thousands of family days out and children’s birthday parties over the years, but now Lancashire’s biggest play centre is looking for a new owner.

Funtazia, situated on Kent Road in Blackburn, has been listed by sellers Hilton Smythe for £459,955.

The location, which is perfect for playdates and get togethers, is the largest of its kind in the area, spanning over two floors and 24,000 sq feet.

As well as soft play area Funtazia also hosts a range of other activities aimed at children up to the age of 12 – including laser tag, a games room and a disco.

The advert states the reason for sale being down to the fact the current owners wish to retire.

“Our client created the business in 2016, only now does the business and property come to the market due to our clients' desire to retire,” it reads.

“The business offers soft play for children aged up to 12 years.

“The centre includes an enormous frame, football table, air hockey, trampolines, pool table, large disco dome bouncy castle, cannons, quad bikes, several mega slides, a Begeara Laser Tag System including 16 guns - a game screen and sounds system and a newly build fully enclosed laser tag arena, separate under 3s play area along with a coffee lounge and café area for the adults.”

As it stands the business trades six days a week and generates a turnover in the region of £500,000 – with the sellers saying there is ‘potential to increase the already thriving turnover by extended opening hours’.

The advert said: “The play centre profits would highly benefit from a partnership or family-run business. Hilton Smythe advises early viewing to avoid disappointment.”

The building is being sold on a leasehold basis, with nine years remaining on the 15-year lease.

Rent is £6,000 a month with rates of £35,000 a year.
