Taken from a low flying plane in 1992, this colour photo offers some fascinating details of Blackburn town centre.
Church Street runs behind the cathedral and you can see the entrance to Lord Square in the shopping centre. On the right is the market hall and you can see the walkway across Ainsworth Street and the top of the famous spiral ramp in front of the St John’s Tavern.
From this picture you can see how much of the rooftop on the shopping centre was taken up with a car park.
On the left you can make out King George’s Hall and King William Street running in front of Marks and Spencer
