EARLIER this week we reported about speed checks being carried out at several locations across East Lancashire.

Officers inside camera enforcement vehicles will be out on the road today, Sunday, carrying out checks in Pendle, Blackburn with Darwen and Hyndburn, with drivers urged to keep their speed down and to stay safe.

Each month the Lancashire Road Safety Partnership releases a list of locations where checks will be carried out in a bid to clamp down on dangerous driving.

Yesterday I followed a police car travelling on the exact same stretch. I kept to 30, the police car going a lot quicker and left me far behind. A separate rule for the police?"
