This week the most enjoyed beer was from the innovative and go-ahead, Twisted Wheel Brewing Company. A brewery that has recently had to increase its brewing capacity, by moving to new premises in Warrington, from its original home in Wigan.
Their Sunday Sessions pale ale was a hazy, golden beer in presentation, with a with a white fluffy head.
The fresh, vibrant and harmonious tropical fruit aromas of pineapple and mango was instantly detected; in addition to some citrus fruit, as the barman dispensed and presented the cask conditioned ale.
There was more strong-flavoured, juicy tropical fruit identified in the taste. Some lemony, floral, peppery spice and sweet malt notes were also recognised. They were all beautifully balanced. More fruity hops and spicy warmth married well, in the lingering, dry finish.
A thirst-quenching, full-favoured delight, that belied its low 3.8% ABV.
