A new, bigger and better Aldi store has reopened following a significant refurbishment and extension.

The store, located on the Deepdale Retail Park in Preston was opened at 8am on Thursday and Team GB Olympic Gymnastics hero Daniel Purvis was on hand to cut the all-important red ribbon.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Preston shoppers can now benefit from a larger retail space of 1,254 sqm, offering an enhanced, convenient and varied shopping experience, with a large range of award-winning British products at unbeatable prices to choose from.

Store manager Jim Alexander said: “The team and I are really looking forward to welcoming back some familiar faces as well as new customers, and supplying our local community with the everyday amazing products we have available.

"Hopefully the new look store will make shopping at Aldi Deepdale that bit easier and more comfortable.”

The new format has been created to make shopping even easier for Preston customers, with the store now having five aisles and clearer signs to make shopping effortless.

Fresh bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle, preventing them from getting squashed under customers’ shopping, and the store will now offer new, easy to browse freezers.

Lancashire Telegraph:

As Aldi has been fuelling Team GB with fresh, healthy food since 2015, to celebrate the re-opening, the bronze medallist from London 2012 joined store manager Jim Alexander and his team to greet customers and cut the red ribbon to declare the store officially open.

Team GB hero Daniel Purvis said: “I’ve had a fantastic time opening the new Aldi store here in Preston.

"It was an honour to officially open the store and welcome customers inside their new store.”

Following its reopening, the store, located on Deepdale Shopping Park, Blackpool Road, Preston, will be open: Monday – Saturday: 8:00am – 10:00pm Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm.
