A 16-year-old has been taken to hospital after being stabbed.
Police were called at about 8.30pm last night (October 11) after reports that a boy had been stabbed in St James Square.
The victim was taken to Burnley Hospital for treatment, with police describing his injuries as minor’.
A 14-year-old boy, from Bacup, was arrested on suspicion of assault and is being held in custody.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We were called around 8.30pm yesterday (Monday, October 11) following a report of an assault in Bacup.
“It was reported a boy had stabbed another boy in St James Square.
“The victim, 16, suffered minor stab wounds and was taken to Burnley Hospital for treatment.
“Following enquiries, a 14-year-old boy from Bacup was later arrested on suspicion of assault. He is currently in custody.”
