OVER a million pounds worth of cocaine was found inside a car garage at the weekend.

Officers in Nelson also found a large quantity of heroin, the value of which has not yet been estimated.

Two men were arrested, charged and have now appeared at Blackburn magistrates.

The court heard how police witnessed numerous comings and goings before forcing entry to MBC Autos on Lonsdale Street.

Inside they recovered 11 kilos of cocaine and a large quantity of heroin, some of which was in individual wraps.

It has been estimated that the cocaine has a street value of around £1.1million.

Toheed Ahmed, 30, of Brougham Street, Burnley, and Raja Amaad Asif, 18, of Railway Street, Nelson, were sent in custody to appear at Burnley Crown Court on November 11 charged with conspiring to supply cocaine and supplying heroin.

Ahmed is also charged with driving while disqualified and without insurance.
