A man has been arrested after a person was threatened with a meat cleaver.
On Friday, British Transport Police officers on duty in Preston were approached by a person who told them they had just been approached and threatened by a man who was wielding a large knife.
The incident happened close to Preston train station and following enquiries, police located and arrested a man who was found to be in possession of a meat cleaver.
The BTP officers handed the case to officers from Preston police, who have now taken over the investigations.
A spokesperson for the BTP said: "On Friday, officers on duty at Preston were approached by a person who said they’d been threatened by a male just away from the station, and the male had a large knife.
"Officers located and arrested a suspect in possession of a meat cleaver.
"Passed to Preston police to investigate."
