A car has been clocked travelling almost three times the speed limit on a residential road.
On Thursday, a police safety camera detected the vehicle travelling at 80mph on Rochdale Road in Bacup - a road that has a designated speed limit of 30mph.
A letter has now been sent to the driver of the vehicle summonsing them to court.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Yesterday one of our safety camera vans detected a vehicle on Rochdale Road in Bacup (30mph limit) travelling at 80mph! Yes 80mph!
"To that driver, the letter is already in the post inviting you to speak with a magistrate at court, which will be a rather tricky conversation."
