POLICE received calls from two men each claiming they had been threatened by the other. Blackburn magistrates heard when officers arrived on the scene one of them had recorded the threats and the other was arrested.
David Spencer, 40, of Bold Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to making a malicious communication. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with a six months alcohol treatment requirement and 20 days rehabilitation activity requirement. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay £95 costs and £85 victim surcharge.
Jade Coleman, prosecuting, said voice messages saved by the aggrieved revealed Spencer had threatened to stab him and set fire to his home.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said threats had been made by both parties.
