Blackburn-born AJ Odudu tops the leader board after a fantastic two-week start to Strictly Come Dancing.

The TV presenter, who is partnered with Kai Widdrington, blew the judges away for the second week in a row after performing a sophisticated foxtrot to Amy Winehouse’s song, tears Dry on Their Own for her week two dance.

AJ joked that the spins in the dance were giving her motion sickness and that she was ‘frenemies’ with the foxtrot.

After her performance she said: “It’s so hard trying to contain all my energy, trying to keep it classy, be silky smooth, all of that, when I am just a little bit of rough really.

“It was very difficult.

“I just hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed performing it.

“I actually had fun in the end.”

Scoring an impressive week two score of 31 in the dance which put her in joint second, her score of 34 from her first week jive has put her at the top of the leader board.

The scores from the first week have been carried over and added onto the scores from the second show.

After her dance last night, judge Craig Revel Horwood said: “I thought you were absolutely amazing, you really were.

“Like a young Diana Ross out there, darling.

“Classy, elegant, stylish, all of those wonderful things.”

In her first week, judge Anton De Beck described AJ and Kai's dance was as good a jive as he'd "ever seen" on the show, adding it was more "week nine than week one."

The show will see its first pair eliminated this evening after the public got their first opportunity to vote last night.

The elimination show will air on BBC One at 7.15pm tonight.
