A cannabis farm with over 350 plants has been seized and is set to be destroyed.

Police found the cultivation at an address in Haslingden and the plants are all set to be disposed of.

A spokesperson for the police said: “This evening your Rossendale Rural Task Force and Neighbourhood Policing Team have attended an address in the Haslingden area and located a substantial cannabis cultivation. In total there were 359 plants seized which will now be destroyed.

“We understand that our posts around cannabis cultivation / possession receive a lot of negative comments and that for some it’s a bone of contention.

“However, please remember that below the surface of cannabis cultivation there are usually many young / vulnerable people that are exploited through the process of growing and dealing illegal drugs.

“These large-scale cultivations are also usually operated by organised criminal groups and that above all it is still a Class B drug which is illegal to possess.

“We will therefore continue to target and disrupt those involved in the production and supply of drugs in Rossendale.”
