Police have made an arrest after £7,000 was stolen from a vulnerable couple.

Blackburn and Darwen Police said the suspect has been interviewed and enquiries will continue.

A spokesperson said: “Officers from Blackburn Taskforce have arrested a suspect in relation to a residential burglary whereby a vulnerable couple have had £7000 stolen.

“Burglaries have a massive impact on victims who have been subjected to such an emotive crime. The effects of this can last for many years after the offence.

“Lancashire Constabulary will not tolerate this type of crime in our communities. Taskforce has now been tasked to prioritise burglaries over the upcoming months.”
