DETECTIVES are looking to speak with a man with distinctive tattoos after a reveller was attacked and left with serious face injuries.

Earlier this month officers asked the public for help in identifying a man they wanted to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place at the Fernhurst Pub on August 12.

Several people contacted police giving the name of a man – he has now been spoken to and eliminated from enquiries.

Detectives have now released a new image and are particularly asking the public to focus on the tattoos on the man’s right inner forearm and the back of his hand.

The incident, which happened at the Bolton Road, Blackburn, pub at about 9.20pm, saw a man attacked by two others.

He was left with multiple fractures to his face.

Detectives have previously arrested a 23-year-old man from Blackburn on suspicion of wounding. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Det Sgt Alex Rawsthorn, of Blackburn CID, said: “This incident left a man with some significant injuries and our enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible for the attack.

“I would like to thank the public for their response to our previous appeal and I would again encourage them to come forward if they recognise the individual in the CCTV image.”
