A HAIRDRESSER has taken ownership of the salon where she started her career as a Saturday girl.

Jo Wright, the owner of Colourbank, Colne, has taken over the salon Angles in Barrowford and will now look after both businesses.

o bought Angles in her 20s but sold the business, while retaining ownership of the building, to Helen Burrows in 2001.

As Helen now wants to take a step back and rent a chair in the popular salon, Jo decided it was time to return to the fold and will now look after both salons, which will continue to operate under their existing brand names.

Jo said: “I started my hairdressing career at Angles as a Saturday girl and went on to buy the salon in my 20s.

“But when my boys were born, I wanted to take time out to enjoy them while they were young, so I sold the business to Helen, who has run an incredible business there for 20 years.”

Ready to return to work some five years later, Jo opened her own Colne salon, Colourbank.

The two salons have successfully operated independently for many years and have now come together as one business, with two names.

A lot of work has been carried out within Angles to bring it up-to-date and a new beauty room is currently a work in progress, ready to rent out in a couple of months.

There are also opportunities for stylists to rent a chair in the Colourbank salon.
Jo said: "I’m really excited to develop two salons which are close to my heart and, while enjoying a small step back, Helen will still be at Angles ready to welcome clients with a smile.”
