Two men have been arrested on suspicion of rape after a woman was attacked in a park.

Officers were called at around 2.24am on Thursday to Moor Park in Preston, after receiving a report that a woman had been subjcted to a sexual assault close to the duck pond on Blackpool Road. 

Lancashire Telegraph:

A cordon was put in place at both entrances to the pond on Blackpool Road and remains in situ on Thursday morning. 

The men, aged 34 and 23, both from Preston remain in custody for questioning.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called at 2.24am on September 23 to a report that a woman had been subjected to a sexual assault at Moor Park, Preston.

Lancashire Telegraph:

"Two men, aged 34 and 23 both from Preston were arrested a short time later on suspicion of rape and are currently in custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log number 0101 of today’s date."
