A DRIVER who failed a roadside drugs test had his car seized by police after being caught undertaking cars on a main road near Bolton.

Traffic officers were conducting routine patrols on September 17 when they spotted a black BMW illegally undertaking other vehicles on the A666 St Peter's Way.

The man travelled onto Kay Street, and was eventually cornered on Hibbert Street after a second patrol joined the chase.

He subsequently failed a roadside drugs test - registering a positive result for cocaine.

The car was seized by police as the driver had been previously warned for similar type of offences.

A Greater Manchester Police Traffic spokesperson said: "Sighted by #XT58 on the M61, the BMW was observed crossing the solid white line, undertaking vehicles towards the A666.

"It then travelled onto Kay Street where #XT14 joined the chase.

"The vehicle was boxed off Hibbert Street and the driver failed a drug test, testing positive for cocaine "The car was seized under a Section 59 order and the driver had previously been warned."
