A LARGE number of police officers were present in Blackburn town centre, with three men arrested in connection to a robbery.
Officers were called to Darwen Street, Blackburn, at around 1pm on Friday (September 17) and following a pursuit, a man was arrested on suspicion of robbery outside Farmfoods on King Street.
A witness said: "All of a sudden the police swarmed the area, there were lots and lots of vehicles and officers around.
"They were chasing a man and eventually they got him just outside the shop (Farmfoods).
"He wasn't complying and I saw him get pepper-sprayed then handcuffed. I've no idea what he's done but it must be something bad for this many police to respond."
Later, two more men were arrested in connection with the robbery and all three have been taken into custody.
Lancashire Police have said that enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting log 0688 of September 17, 2021.
