A man is due to appear in court today after exposing himself to a woman in what police have called an 'isolated incident'.

On Thursday, the 45-year-old, from Preston was arrested on suspicion of exposing himself to a woman while in the Chapel Hill area of Longridge.

The man was interviewed and charged and remanded into custody to appear ay Blackburn Magistrates Court on Friday (today).

A spokesperson for the Ribble Valley Police said: "A 45-year-old male from Preston was arrested on Thursday September 9 in Longridge on suspicion of exposing himself to an adult female.

"This happened in the area of Chapel Hill.

"The victim reported the matter to the police, with officers attending the area immediately.

"Officers then located and detained the male.

"The suspect has since been interviewed and was remanded into police custody to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Friday.

"To reassure residents that this male is not believed to be responsible for any other similar incidents in the Ribble Valley, and this appears an isolated incident."
