A DOORMAN stopped as he returned home in his car at 6.10 am failed a breathalyser.
Blackburn magistrates heard police were looking for Albert Buckley after receiving a tip-off about a possible drink driver.
Buckley, 47, of Ballantrae Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was fined £146 with £85 cists and £34 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for three years after the court heard he had a previous drink drive conviction within the last 10 years.
Graeme Parkinson, defending, said his client had been working as a doorman and during a long night had some alcohol.
"When he finished work he felt fine to drive," said Mr Parkinson. "He got as far as his home address without incident before he was stopped by the police."
Mr Parkinson said it was not clear if the conviction would impact on his client's work as a doorman.
