A STRICTLY star and a children’s TV favourite will be part of what producers claim will be Blackburn’s biggest ever pantomime this Christmas.

Dancer Katya Jones, who won the famous Glitterball Trophy with celebrity partner Joe McFadden in 2017 on BBC’s top rated Saturday night show Strictly Come Dancing will play the Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

She will be joined by CBBC’s Hacker T Dog as the Magic Mirror for the King George’s Hall pantomime which runs from Monday, December 6 to New Year’s Eve.

Due to Strictly commitments - the launch show is on September 18 - Katya will appear in Snow White from December 19.

The show also features Charlie Guest as Muddles, Steve Boyce as Dame Dolly, Chloe Carrington as Snow White, Daniel Lacey as The Prince and Helen Farrell as The Fairy.

Producer, James Shone, said: “I am so excited to be bringing pantomime back to Blackburn.

“It was such a shame that we couldn’t present the show last year due to the pandemic. It’s a brilliant production and we have such a strong cast to deliver this up-to-date pantomime version of the classic story. There is something for the whole family and I know that everyone will have an enjoyable time.”

Producers promise some hi-tech visuals including Hacker T Dog appearing as a pre-recorded video projection.

As well as winning Strictly Katya also hit the headlines when she was photographed kissing celebrity dance partner, comedian Seann Walsh when she was married to fellow dancer Neil Jones. The couple have subsequently divorced.

In the last series she was part of the same sex pairing, dancing with Olympic boxer Nicola Adams and they proved a big hit with viewers but had to pull out after Katya tested positive for Covid.
