Nineties boyband heart-throb and one third of the current Take That line-up is set to play his rescheduled live DJ set in East Lancashire on Saturday.

The one and only Howard Donald will appear live for an exclusive performance at Rawtenstall's St Mary’s Chambers.

Howard, who was due to perform at St Mary's in March 2020, was forced to postpone his show when Covid hit and the venue decided to halt all performances because of the first national lockdown.

Fans may know him for his cheeky grin and his lead vocals on Take That anthem, Never Forget, but for the last twenty years, knowledgeable clubbers worldwide have been subject to his trailblazing tech and electro house mixes.

As well as being instrumental in the reforming of the world's biggest boy-band, Howard founded the DJ band Sonic Headz along with his friends King Brain and Bart Van Der Zwaan, and he now commands huge audiences at underground clubs across continental Europe.

A spokesperson for the Rossendale venue said: "The understandable preconceptions that surround a perennial chart topper-turned-DJ mean Howard has had to stand head and shoulders above the rest. And he has.

"There’s no other way to explain him earning sets at no-nonsense clubs like Judge Jules’ [Radio 1] Judgment Sundays in Ibiza, or slots at underground clubs like Newcastle’s Digital, or Sheffield’s The Plug.

"Further afield he’s conducted parties from the booths of venues like Pacha - Munich, Beluga - Austria, and Liquid – Switzerland to name a few.

"Those venues play host to various superstars like Sasha, Sander van Doorn, Utah Saints and Marco V, so the regular crowds expect nothing less."

Special guest support on the night comes from some of the areas best DJ’s featuring DJ Mad:am, DJ Jay Leeder and Twin Sound and is set to be a landmark night for the venue.

St Mary's Chambers venue director John Patrick, said: "After the show was initially due to take place in March 2020, but was postponed due to the first national lockdown, we have worked extremely hard with Howard’s management to make a new date for the show work.

"After further postponements due to continued restrictions we are absolutely over the moon to finally welcome such a huge star to our fantastic venue in Rossendale.

"We feel privileged to present artists of Howard’s calibre here at St Mary’s Chambers and bring exciting events to Rossendale, with no expense spared on production we are proud to play a part in such a vibrant community that we are part of. We are extremely excited to welcome him to the venue."

Kicking-off a weekend of live music, St Mary's Chambers will also welcome a Craig David tribute act on Friday evening.

Kurtis Ray has mastered Craig David’s vocals, energy and moves in his exceptional tribute act, that features all of the RnB king's chart-topping hits, plus other massive tunes from the genre, including: Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo-Selector), Fill Me In, 7 Days, Walking Away, What’s Your Flava.

Kurtis is no stranger to large audiences, having performed at festivals, on cruise ships and numerous hotels and holiday parks.

He got through to boot camp on the X-Factor and the final of Stars In Their Eyes.

There will be a 00’s Rewind DJ party night after the main event until the early hours.

Tickets for both gigs are now on sale from www.stmaryslive.com or by calling 01706 223222.

Tickets for Howard Donald are priced at £23 plus booking fees, while the Craig David tribute is £10 plus booking fees.
