To mark the 170th anniversary of East Lancashire's most famous pie maker, the company has launched two new pie flavours.

The peppered steak pie and the pork pie, from Accrington-based Holland's Pies, have been influenced by football fans.

As a popular pie of choice for football fans attending stadium matches, the peppered steak pie was missed during lockdown as fixtures were limited.

However, fans will be pleased to hear they can now enjoy the tasty favourite from the comfort of their own homes, alongside a brand-new pork pie, that Holland's say is perfect all year round.

Hitting shelves this month with an RRP of just £3.20, the frozen pies come in packs of four and are made using only British and Irish Meat encased in Holland’s signature pastry.

The peppered steak pie uses tender slow-cooked steak covered in peppercorn sauce to create its unique flavour, while the classic pork pie contains seasoned pork, encased in its signature pork pie pastry.

The new additions are already available in Iceland stores, with the peppered steak pie available in Tesco later this month, followed by a wider roll-out to supermarkets throughout the rest of the year.

Brand manager for Holland’s Pies, Leanne Holcroft, said: "We’re incredibly excited to be launching not just one, but two new tasty flavours to our pie range.

"We know how popular these flavours are with pie fans, so hope they will become mealtime staples as pie season arrives and the colder weather starts to draw in.

“Both flavours use the signature Holland’s pastry that turns golden when cooked, and are a great addition to the freezer so that when the pie craving hits, all you have to do is pop them in the oven and get ready to tuck in. We can’t wait to see what everyone thinks.”
