Police are trying to identify the driver of a vehicle which is believed to have been used to ferry criminals in a series of thefts.

Rossendale Police said over the weekend, officers seized a Nissan Micra with no insurance, that had been notified off road and showing cloned plates.

A Police spokesperson said: “There has been a number of reports received that it was being used to ferry criminals in a number of theft offences in the Bacup and Whitworth areas of the borough, as well as cross border into GMP.

“These were mostly tool thefts from vans, which we know is a concern for our residents.

“We’re trying to now identify who might have been using the car for such activity, and so if you recognise it and can help us identify them that would be great.

“Similarly, dash cam footage, house CCTV etc would be welcome and can be submitted online by visiting https://orlo.uk/Vqg6r - please quote log 1010 of the 30 August 2021. Or email PC HEALEY 5779 on 5779@lancashire.police.uk.”
