Rossendale cousins Becky Ashworth and Tom Schofield, both 23, are paying the highest possible tribute to the staff at Rosemere Cancer Centre, who treat Becky’s mum Steph.
Along with Becky’s boyfriend, professional dancer Josh Hutchby, (27), they have climbed the country’s three highest mountains of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon – a total ascent of 10,052ft (3,064 metres) – in a thank you that will raise money for charity Rosemere Cancer Foundation to spend on a project benefitting centre patients.
Becky, a teaching assistant at St Paul’s CE Primary School, Rawtenstall, said: “The centre provides outstanding care and innovative treatment for local cancer patients. My mum attends monthly for check-ups and treatment. The doctors and nurses have been amazing in monitoring, supporting and providing treatment for mum and my family.”
