Calling all gin lovers! A pub walk is coming to East Lancashire next month – and it’s all for a good cause.

Rossendale Hospice has arranged an event which combines a pub walk with gin tasting.

Supporters taking part will join the pub walk at the Rose ‘n’ Bowl in Stacksteads and visit 10 pubs along the way while enjoying gin tasting from sponsors.

The walk ends at the Northern Whisper in Rawtenstall and all the gin sponsors will be holding a Gin Market at Rawtenstall Outdoor Market in the afternoon where a bottle of their favourite gin can be purchased.

Clare Richards, head of fundraising, said: “We’re very excited about this event which promises to be a great day for people to enjoy their friends’ company, while walking five miles through the valley and enjoying some of the great pubs we have.

“The past year has been so difficult for so many, including everyone in hospitality, and this will be a great way to celebrate our local establishments.

“Our supporters will also get to purchase food on route and get to enjoy the entertainment on offer.

“We’ve already had a fantastic initial response and we’re so pleased we are now able to finally hold events to raise much needed funds for the hospice.”

Supporters will receive their own 47ml tasting glass at the start which they keep with them throughout the event to reduce plastic wastage.

Clare Richards added, “We would like to thank our sponsors for enabling us to hold the event: 1842 Alchemist Gin; Long Dog Gin; Moose Gin; Bashall Spirits; Cuckoo Gin; Spirit of Garstang Gin and Rum; and 4 Sisters Distillery; as well as our participating pubs: The Rose ‘n’ Bowl; Jolly Sailor; Boar’s Head; Red Lion Newchurch; Jackson’s Cafe Bar; Casked Ale House & Ginporium; Tiger Lounge; The Whitaker; White Lion Hotel and Northern Whisper.”
