COMEDIANS Alex Lowe and East Lancashire’s very own Ted Robbins will recreate characters from the award-winning TV show Phoenix Nights live on stage.

The show, which promises laugh out loud comedy, comes to Rawtenstall’s St Mary’s Chambers for one night only on Bank Holiday Monday, August 30.

Actor and funnyman Alex, famous for portraying the hapless and unsubtle psychic Clinton Baptiste, will be joined by Rossendale resident Ted, who starred as the infamous Den Perry in the hit Peter Kay show, which celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year.

Alex is a regular on the stand-up comedy circuit and took his character’s show, Clinton Baptiste – The Paranormalist Returns, on a sell-out tour around the country in 2019 and early 2020.

Ted, from Crawshawbooth, is one of the industry’s longest-serving performers, featuring in award-winning shows such as League of Gentlemen, The Governor in CBBC’s The Slammer - for which he won a BAFTA - and acting alongside Victoria Wood for many years.

St Mary’s Chambers' venue director John Patrick said: “After a difficult 12 months for the entertainment industry we are delighted to bring stars of such an incredibly popular TV series to our fantastic venue in East Lancashire, for a well needed night of comedy and laughter.
“We are very fortunate to present Alex as Clinton Baptiste, who is set to perform his live stage show at renowned theatre venues across the whole UK, alongside the very funny, and friend of the venue, Ted Robbins as Den Perry.

“This will be a superb live show, showcasing sketches from two of TV’s most well-known characters from one of the most popular UK comedy series ever written.”

Monday’s performance will be Alex’s first live show of 2021 before he embarks on an extensive national theatre show with Clinton Baptiste goes Stratospheric.

Alex Lowe as Clinton Baptiste and Ted Robbins as Den Perry will perform live on Bank Holiday Monday.

Doors open from 7pm, with tickets costing £14 plus booking fees.
