A FULL-DAY Ska festival is to be held in Rossendale on Bank Holiday Sunday.

St Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall will host the event next weekend which will celebrate the best in Ska and reggae.

The four-band line-up will be headlined by Stockport-based seven-piece Special Brew with support from leading reggae outfit Jeramiah Ferrari; Accrington-based Inciders and Blank Cheque from Manchester.

The festival begins at 3pm and DJs will play in between the band performances.

St Mary’s Chambers venue director John Patrick said: “After the huge success of the first event in 2019 we were so disappointed that the event wasn’t able to take place last summer due to restrictions in place at the time. The entertainment industry and hospitality has suffered greatly over the past 18 months and we are now excited for what the future will bring after a difficult time.

“This event will feel like a huge celebration of the return of live music and what better genre to do so than Ska?

“It’s the embodiment of people from all walks of life getting together, to dance and sing and enjoy themselves and we are extremely excited for it to finally take place.”
