A major link road through East Lancashire was more congested than usual on Tuesday morning after a Jaguar crashed into fencing before landing in a field.
Police blocked part of Preston Road on the outskirts of Longridge just after 5.30am after receiving reports that a silver Jaguar had crashed, taking out electricity lines belonging to BT.
A spokesperson for the police said: "At 5.30am, police were called to reports of a vehicle that had left the carriageway and flown through the fence and fields.
"We are currently waiting for BT to attend to fix the lines which are lower over the road.
"We’ll let you know when the road has been cleared."
It is not known how many people were in the vehicle or whether anyone has been injured as a result of the crash.
As of 9am the road was cleared.
The police spokesperson added: "Following the RTC on Preston Road on the outskirts of Longridge earlier this morning, we can confirm that the road has now been reopened."
