There is so much to take in with this aerial view of Blackburn town centre taken around 1982. The picture records the town centre before a number of major changes.
So you can still see Dutton’s Brewery in the centre to the right of the newly-built Lancashire Evening Telegraph building. On the Boulevard (to the left), the bus shelters were still in use with the Palace Theatre still standing on the corner next to the Telephone Exchange.
You can also see Lord Square in the shopping centre with the stairs leading to the roof top car park and Peppermint Place. The market is top centre between Ainsworth Street and Penny Street.
