A Blackburn man has been fined over £200 for throwing a cigarette butt on the floor.
Ian Dalton, 42, was in Nelson on February 8, 2021, when he dropped a cigarette on the ground on Lomeshaye Industrial Zone, breaching section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Dalton, of Nuttall Street, Blackburn, was proved guilty of the offence in Preston Magistrates Courts on July 20.
He has been given a fine of £220, been ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £100 – a total payment of £354.
