Police officers checking for speeding drivers came across this driver who was transporting a ladder.
The speed checks were being conducted in Chorley and several drivers were stopped for road traffic offences including this motorist who had a section of a ladder sticking out of what appeared to be the rear window. He had managed to cover the end with a carrier bag at least and tied the ladder to a wing mirror.
He was given a verbal warning.
Elsewhere, Police said this vehicle failed to stop for in Lancaster in the early hours and was pursued. The vehicle was abandoned on Dorrington Road. The driver made off but didn’t get far, he was located by a police dog unit hiding in a garden.
