FORMER Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart is expected to have a medical today as he edges closer to sealing a move to Celtic from Tottenham Hotspur.
The ex-England and Manchester City stopper, 34, who made 19 appearances for The Clarets between 2018 and 2020, is reportedly set to sign for the Glasgow giants as new boss Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen his beleaguered squad.
Hart could yet start for Celtic in their Europa League tie with Czech outfit Jablonec on Thursday evening - after their Champions League campaign fell to Danish side Midtjylland in their first qualifier.
Dedicated transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted earlier today to confirm a deal between the two clubs had been agreed and that Hart was Glasgow-bound.
Done deal and here-we-go. Joe Hart joins Celtic on a permanent deal from Tottenham, £15k per week as salary. Medical and official announcement this week. ⚪️🟢 #Celtic #THFC

Confirmed as advanced one week ago... and Celtic are still working on Buta as new fullback option 👇🏻 https://t.co/G955DOOmy4
Postecoglou declined to talk about specific targets last week after the Hart links emerged.
"We have three goalkeepers who all played significant parts last year,” he added. “We need to get into a position where one of them is settled as a number one because you don’t want to be changing your goalkeeper too often.
"If I think we can improve in that position then that’s an area we will look at but there's a number of priorities in terms of positions.
"We still need two or three significant additions and which positions will depend on which players are available."
