Firefighters helped to rescue a cat which found it’s way on top of a roof.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue said at 2.30pm today (2 August) a fire engine from Hyndburn attended an animal rescue on Hapton Street, Padiham.
The incident involved a cat that was stuck on the roof of a two-storey property. Firefighters saved the animal using a 13.5m ladder, and a triple extension ladder. They were in attendance for approximately one hour.
Also today at around 2.20pm one fire engine from Nelson attended a domestic building fire on Netherfield Gardens, Nelson.
The incident involved a cooker in a ground floor flat. Firefighters extinguished the fire using one fire blanket, and a positive pressure ventilation unit. They were in attendance for half an hour.
