A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink/drug driving after crashing his BMW into a parked car.
Just after 6am on Saturday, police were called to Bolton Road in Darwen after receiving reports of a collision.
When they arrived they found a BMW had crashed into a Kia Sportage which was parked on the road.
Three people suffered minor injuries and two were taken to hospital.
Officers closed the road at the junction with Grimshaw Street while they dealt with the incident and advised anyone travelling in the area to find an alternative route.
A spokesperson for the police posted on social media on Saturday: "There is currently a road closure in place at Bolton Road (junction of Grimshaw Park towards Darwen end) whilst police deal with a road traffic collision.
"Please avoid the area. Thank you for your cooperation."
The road was reopened a few hours later, with police providing the following update on Monday: "We were called at shortly after 6am on Saturday to the report of a collision on Bolton Road, Darwen.
"A BMW had collided with a parked Kia Sportage.
"There is a mention of three people suffering injuries but they aren’t clear.
"A 21-year-old man from Chorley was arrested on suspicion of drink/drug driving.
"He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "Two people were taken to hospital."
