Police had to deflate the tyres of a stolen van on the M61 after it failed to stop.
Lancashire Road Traffic Police share these images of the white Vauxhall van after it was eventually halted on the motorway.
Police said: “With van doors open and the passenger launching items at us, it ground to a halt where both detained.
“Driver wanted on warrant X2, passenger was a prison absconder. Numerous tools and weapons on board.”
The team also said a stolen car from Scotland was intercepted on the M6 and an Audi was stopped on the M55 with four people arrested. The incidents all happened today (July 29).
