Police recovered a quantity of Class B drugs following a raid on a property in Darwen.

One man was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs. 

Blackburn and Darwen Police posted: “Drug dealing is not acceptable in our neighbourhoods and the Neighbourhood Taskforce along with colleagues from the Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Intelligence Team will continue to work to disrupt and cease criminal activity.

“Drugs and drug related crime have a negative impact on our communities and its use can harm the health and safety of our residents. 

“To keep our communities safe, we encourage you to look out for common signs of drug dealing and let us know if you see anything suspicious. 

“Unusual activity could include people coming and going from an address at odd times day or night, strange smells, windows covered or curtains closed, and cars pulling up near to a house for short period of time.”

Police also shared an image of a large scale cannabis farm set up at an address in Darwen.

Blackburn and Darwen Police said: “Unfortunately, the “horticulturists” who have took great care of the plants didn’t hang around to speak to the police. 

“Electricity northwest have made the premises safe due to a bypass on the electricity making it extremely unsafe. This isn’t accepted in our communities and we will do everything we can to stop it.”
