A driver is set to ‘hear from police’ after travelling motorway speeds in a 30mph zone.

The driver was seen by police travelling at 72mph through Cherry Tree in Blackburn.

A spokesperson for the road police said: “Just to reassure the driver recently detected driving the other night at 72mph through Cherry Tree in Blackburn (30mph zone), you will be hearing from us very shortly.

“There's no excuse for travelling at speeds like this on our roads. Please slow down.”
