BUS journeys were not exactly straightforward for passengers travelling through Cherry Tree in 1967.
For the Ribble service which crossed the railway bridge had to make an impromptu stop and drop them all off. The passengers would then walk across the bridge followed by the bus and once across, they would all get back onboard.
It was all down to structural repairs which were needed on the bridge and a weight limit being imposed on vehicles using it until the essential work had been carried out.
Most passengers seemed to be very good natured about it all, although in November when these pictures were taken, you would have expected a few grumbles in the cold and the rain.
