Adam Yusif Bhamji finally captured and returned to prison

Adam Yusif Bhamji from Bamber Bridge, who was wanted on recall to prison, has been arrested in West Mercia.

The 38-year-old was located travelling in a vehicle on the M5 on Saturday afternoon.

Officers from West Mercia Police stopped the vehicle and arrested Bhamji before he was brought back to Lancashire on Monday.

Bhamji, who also uses the last name Birch, has been sent back to prison where he will serve the remainder of his 10 year sentence for aggravated burglary.

He has also been bailed in relation to allegations of assault and will be spoken to at a later date in connection with these offences.

A spokesperson for the police said: "Bhamji was located following our media appeals as part of Operation Hunter, which targets some of the county’s most wanted offenders.

"We have made more than 50 arrests in South division since the campaign started earlier this month and we now need your help to find others trying to evade capture.

"One down, four to go, here are the most wanted faces in South Lancashire – do you know where they are?"

Kian Lowe:

Wanted in connection with a robbery which took place in Preston last week.

The 19-year-old is wanted by police after officers were called to a disturbance in Aqueduct Street, Preston, on July 12 shortly after midnight.

Lowe, previously of Beckett Court, Preston is described as being 5ft 11in tall, with ginger hair and usually has a beard.

He has links to Plungington and Preston city centre.

Leroy Allen:

Wanted in connection with a robbery which happened over the weekend.

The 34-year-old is wanted by police after they were called to a disturbance on Blackpool Road, Preston, on July 18 shortly before 11pm.

Allen, who is from the Ribbleton area of Preston is described as being 5ft 7in tall, of medium build with short cropped dark hair and numerous tattoos and scars including one on his neck.

He has links to multiple areas across Preston.

Michael McGarry:

Wanted after failing to appear at Preston Magistrates Court.

The 41-year-old is wanted on warrant in connection with possession of a controlled class A drug.

McGarry, of Grisedale Place, Chorley is described as being 5ft 6in tall, with short cropped ginger hair, blue eyes and has a small tattoo dot near his right thumb.

He has links to Chorley and Preston.

Robert Towers: 

Wanted on warrant after failing to appear at Preston Magistrates Court last week.

The 39-year-old is wanted in connection with theft of a CCTV camera.

Towers, previously of Collins Road, Bamber Bridge is described as being 5ft 7in tall, with balding light brown hair and he has a distinctive bulldog tattoo on his arm.

He has links to Preston and South Ribble.
