THE candidates have been announced for four by-elections in an East Lancashire borough caused by the resignation of two long-serving politicians.
Former Liberal Democrat leader Allan Knox and his wife Sue resigned from both Ribble Valley Borough and Clitheroe Town Councils to start a new life in Scotland.
This has caused polls in the Primrose and Littlemoor wards for both authorities on Thursday August 19.
People wishing to vote in the four by-elections have to be registered by Thursday August 3.
The Littlemoor candidates for Ribble Valley Borough Council are: Jimmy Newhouse (Conservative), Gaynor Patricia Hibbert (Liberal Democrat), Mandy Pollard (Labour) and Anne Elizabeth Peplow (Green).
The political hopefuls in the ward for Clitheroe Town Council are: Jimmy Newhouse (Conservative), Gaynor Patricia Hibbert (Liberal Democrat), Mandy Pollard (Labour) and Anne Elizabeth Peplow (Green).
The Primrose candidates for Ribble Valley Borough Council are: Katei Blezard (Conservative), Kerry Elizabeth Fletcher (Liberal Democrat), Michael St John Graveston (Labour), and Malcolm Charles Peplow (Green).
These standing for Clitheroe Town Council in the ward are: Katei Blezard (Conservative), Kerry Elizabeth Fletcher (Liberal Democrat), Michael St John Graveston (Labour), and Malcolm Charles Peplow (Green).
