A motor home driver has been arrested after causing long delays on the M60 this morning following a serious collision.

Traffic was stopped completely from around 7.45 for a number of hours with conjestion affecting the M61 out of Bolton.

This was all due to an overturned motorhome between junction 14 (East Lancs Road) and junction 13 A575 Walkden Road (Worsley).

Police have since updated to say that the incident involved two vehicles, one of which was the motor home.

The driver of the motor home was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and later tested three times over the legal drink driving limit, according to police.

A GMP Traffic tweet said: "M60 junction 13 now fully open following an earlier two vehicle collision involving a motor home.

"Driver of which was arrested under suspicion of drink driving by officers and who later provided a reading of 104 in custody (three times over the legal limit)."
